Apollo Hospitals Dhaka is observing the International Nurses Week from 7th – 15th May 2018 to raise awareness about the important role of nurses in the healthcare and in society.
Every year the day is observed around the world on May 12 marking the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale who is the founder of Modern Nursing. The theme of this year is “Nurses: A Voice to Lead – Health is a Human Right”
On 12 May more than 300 nurses of Apollo Hospitals Dhaka brought out a rally from Bashundhara Area through 300 feet road. They also took Florence Nightingale Oath (Nurses’ Pledge) to refresh their commitment towards services to humanity. Throughout the week Apollo Hospitals Dhaka conducted various competitions and quiz programs for their nurses. The weeklong celebration will be concluded on 15 May with a grand award giving ceremony followed by entertainment program by nurses with presence of other employees of Apollo Hospitals Dhaka.
Ms. Rose Thomas Thekkeyil, Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) mentioned ‘Apollo Hospitals Dhaka is proud to celebrate and acknowledge the role of nurses in delivering the highest level of quality care to our patients and emphasized the need for Nursing Empowerment enabling them to be actively part of the changing healthcare scenario in the country’.
