JCI ACCREDITATION OF APOLLO HOSPITALS DHAKA

In 2008, Apollo Hospitals Dhaka became the first hospital in Bangladesh to receive Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation, an international stamp for excellence in clinical practices in patient care and safety. In June 2011, after a rigorous survey process, the hospital has once again achieved full JCI re-accreditation and still remains the only JCI accredited hospital in the country. JCI accreditation is an important indicator for Apollo Hospitals Dhaka as an "International Health Care Provider". This accreditation was earned through our provision of world-class healthcare services, and the accomplishment of such accreditation affirms our commitment to providing the people of Bangladesh international standard health care in their own country.

WHAT IS JCI?jci_poster2-187x300 Award & Affiliation

JCI (Joint Commission International) is an independent, non-profit organization which is dedicated to improving the quality of health care around the world through voluntary accreditation. JCI evaluates and accredits more than 300 public and private health care organizations in 39 countries. JCI sets standards for hospitals are focused on one goal: raising the safety and quality of care to the highest possible level. JCI's uniform, high standards are designed to be adaptable to local needs; thus, accommodating the legal, religious and cultural factors within a country.

WHAT DOES "JCI ACCREDITED" MEAN?

"JCI Accredited" means that a hospital has met the international standards set by JCI. This only happens after the hospital has been visited by JCI surveyors who thoroughly check that the hospital is following these standards everyday. Apollo Hospitals Dhaka was visited by JCI surveyors, and awarded with JCI accreditation in 2008 and re-accreditation in June, 2011.

Apollo Hospitals Dhaka is the first & only hospital in Bangladesh to have achieved this unique accreditation that too consecutively for 3rd time in 2014. In the 3rd accreditation, we were one of first 10 hospitals in the world to have passed 5th edition of JCI guideline
